Over the last few weeks we were able to enjoy a much-needed and restful break. It’s hard to imagine all that we have been able to be a part of since arriving about 5 months ago. I (Trevor) have began at work developing and implementing a mentoring program for our fellow missionaries at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting, oversaw To Every Tribe’s weekly chapel (preaching most weeks), led a church planting team on monthly trips into Northern Mexico, taught a class each Monday geared at helping students tackle important personal and family issues in life and ministry, taught a class on biblical parenting, played a key leadership role in starting a church plant here in the RGV, was one of the two main speakers at a family equipping conference put on by several churches here in the RGV, coached the boys soccer team and (aside from her everyday duties of managing our home, homeschooling, and taking care of the little baby in her belly) Betsy did an incredible job in showing hospitality to other missionaries and people from our church by having families and individuals in our home for meals 16 times!!!!

us and spoolstras jan 2014Whew! I look back and cannot believe all that the Lord let us be a part 0f. We have seen Him work in powerful ways both in our lives and those we are ministering to. During our break we did a lot of resting and enjoying each other as a family. I was blessed in making two special trips to village EZ and we had some of our best friends come during our final week of break. They were our first visitors (besides a man from our church in KC but he had some ulterior motives – visiting his fiancée who is a trainee at the CPCP 🙂 ) It was a great time encouragement and joy to spend time with them! We enjoyed a lot of great fellowship while they got to experience the RGV culture and even went to Mexico with them twice – once to a touristy shopping area (Progresso) and Adam went to village EZ with me for a day.

We feel refreshed and ready to tackle the second half of this training year which will include more of almost everything mentioned above and, of course, in early June we will meet the baby :)! We look forward to more visitors who are scheduled to come over the next few months including both Betsy and my parents and a family from our church in KC.

We are so privileged to be small part in what the Lord is doing and praise God continually for His kindness and encouragement through those who partner with us for the Kingdom!
